Tech Tool:
Canvas
Canvas is Penn State’s online system for teaching and learning. It holds the class roster and is used to share course content, grades, communication, and more.
Every course offered at Penn State has a Canvas space which can be used for sharing syllabi and other course materials with the class, offering timed or untimed quizzes and exams, engaging in online discussions, providing a space for class communication via email and announcements, uploading student homework assignments and capturing grades in the gradebook. A number of other ed tech tools are also integrated with Canvas, so that only one sign in is required. Canvas also integrates with LionPath so that class rosters are updated, and grades can be transferred at the end of the semester.
