Frequently Asked Questions

How do I digitize equations and other hand-written work?

If you normally write on the whiteboard or chalkboard in your class, you can capture equations, graphs and other hand-written content using digital ink. Here are some ideas.

1) Can you include the needed equations, graphs or other drawings in your PowerPoint presentation for the class? Revealing equations a line at a time can be effective to help focus student attention as you work through the steps of a problem and can be faster than writing them by hand.

2) Try EquatIO to speed up PowerPoint creation. Type, handwrite or dictate any expression, and EquatIO will convert it to digital math which can be added into PowerPoint, Word, Google docs, Canvas, and more.

3) Teaching from a tablet with a writing stylus allows you to create digital ink. You can run Zoom on your Microsoft Surface, iPad, or Android tablet. You can utilize the digital ink features of the tablet while teaching through Zoom. You can also record your Zoom meeting for students unable to attend in person.

4) Schedule time in the Office for Digital Learning studio to record you lectures. Our studio in Engineering Unit C is equipped with everything you need to record class lectures including digital ink. Contact Us to schedule a time.

5) There are a number of classrooms that have digital ink recording capability. These rooms include:
