2nd Semester Ideas

For my passion blog, I am planning to continue with musical theater reviews. I will likely expand into musical movies and television shows as well.

As far as my “This I Believe” project goes, I have thought of two ideas based on my past experiences that I think would work. The first is “I believe in spontaneity,” and the second is “I believe in listening.”

Last, I would like to focus on the ethics of technology for my civic issues blog. It would cover controversial topics such as new AI advances like ChatGPT and OSINT applications, hot topics like cryptocurrency, and the consequences of digitizing more and more processes. I would also be interested in writing about human rights movements, specifically internationally.

  1. I look forward to hearing more theater reviews; they’re interesting reads since I almost never have any previous knowledge about them. The spontaneity topic sounds pretty interesting and I’d be curious to see what stories you have to tell there; listening is a good option as well because most people have plenty of experience to share. I think the AI choice for civic issues is great and honestly I’m mad I didn’t think of that too. It is as current as could be and there is fraud, cheating, and good outcomes too that you could discuss.

  2. I was in another section last semester so I never read your music reviews; I’m so excited to start! I’ll definitely take a look at what you’ve already discussed and am sure I’ll have some musical recommendations for you.
Both of your beliefs are also very important to me, especially the latter about listening. Active listening is something I try to practice everyday.
I was actually just reading about Bitcoin today! The whole concept is very complex with its ethics, so I’m excited to hear what you’ll say about all that technology too.

  3. Even though I was in your RCL class last semester, I never got a chance to read your musical theater reviews. I’m excited to read them since I do enjoy musicals. I like your spontaneity idea for the “This I Believe” podcast. I’m someone who can take a while to make decisions, so I would love to hear your stories about being spontaneous and how you came to believe in that. For your civic issues blog, I find your ethics in technology to be an interesting one that is very relevant to us now. I don’t read much on technology and cryptocurrency, so I would love to learn more through your blog!
