ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Evanisko Project is an innovative collaboration between the Department of Graphic Design and the University Libraries designed to establish a program for highlighting student work in the Libraries and to increase the visibility of the Libraries as an exhibit center for thought-provoking and vibrant student works.
Originally designed as a way to showcase student artwork in the University Libraries, the Evanisko project has grown into a broader program. Multiple Graphic Design classes have participated in Libraries site studies, project design and development, and implementation and installation in the University Libraries. The students are engaged with the Libraries’ community in planning and executing their installations. The artwork impacts all who enter the Libraries’ spaces and engage with the thought-provoking student work. This collaboration integrates curriculum, addresses social issues through design challenges, highlights student work, fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, and engages students in community outreach.

“We value the role that the library and the arts play in the life of the University and have been impressed by how the library has evolved over the years. Through this gift, we are pleased to fund a partnership that will help establish the Collaboration Commons as an environment where visitors are motivated to explore, learn and evolve their thinking.“
