Hi Eva. While I do not watch reality TV, I have a few shows on repeat. Gilmore Girls is one of my favs. You pointed out how people make connections and even release dopamine from watching their favorite romantic show. I am excited to hear your next review on other shows. Are you strictly a reality TV or do you like other TV shows as well?

Reality TV provided another aspect of the “Stars” that we normally don’t have. As in most of reality shows, they may be scripted or rehearsed but as long as there is something to keep the attention such as dramatic reaction, explosive news, or even useful daily tips. Because of how famous the stars are, people tend to credit their beliefs and speeches more which leads to more views of the show.

Yooo I am a HUGE Survivor fan, I totally get your points about why people get sucked into reality TV. The only reason I don’t watch the other shows you mention here is because I know I’d spend WAYYY too much time watching them (I’ve probably watched 20+ seasons of Survivor already). Do you watch Big Brother as well? That’s the only other reality TV I could really see myself watching because from what I gather it seems like Survivor but in a house instead of on an Island.
