In April 2017, my classmates and I traveled to Orlando to visit Disney and some of the other amazing attractions the Sunshine State has to offer. It was an amazing time with all of my classmates and one of the most fun memories I have from high school.

Before continuing this blog, check out last week’s Orlando, Florida #1 to read about the first two days of my trip.

Day 3:

Since we didn’t get to our hotel rooms after Grad Bash the night before until 3 AM, we all decided to sleep in the next day, instead of waking up early to go to Disney. Getting up at noon and eating complimentary brunch in the cafeteria, my friends and I went to the pool to tan, swim, and play ping pong for a while before preparing for another trip to the Disney parks.

We were allowed to choose whatever park we wanted again, so for the last day, we picked Magic Kingdom, of course.

After all, if you didn’t go to Magic Kingdom while at Disney World, did you even go at all?

Reaching Magic Kingdom in the late afternoon (after what seemed like the hundredth shuttle ride of the trip), we walked down Main Street, U.S.A., towards Cinderella’s Castle. Our first priority was to go to a kiosk to set up our Fast Passes, which I strongly encourage any visitor of Disney World to buy as literally all of the lines were at least 45 minutes long, but usually over an hour.

Since it was near the kiosk, our first attraction was the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, which I know is for little kids, but it was surprisingly funny. When we rode the People Mover (the train that runs in circles on tracks above Tomorrowland), we broke into two carts to play a game. The goal was to wave at people on the ground below, and whichever team got more waves back from the strangers won. It was impossible to actually count, so I’m not sure who actually won.

For the rest of the day, we rode all of the best rides Disney has to offer. Some of my favorite attractions were Big Thunder Mountain (which we rode twice), Splash Mountain, and Cinderella’s castle, of course. We reached the Pinocchio Village Haus for dinner and then, to my misfortune, “it’s a small world,” which is definitely my last pick. The line for The Haunted Mansion was ironically more fun than the actual ride, as it has many interactive props to entertain you while you’re waiting.

We unfortunately forgot to get ready for the firework show and had to watch it from the other side of the park. Next time I visit, I will make sure that that doesn’t happen again. With less than an hour until the park closed, we ran to Space Mountain. When we got off the rollercoaster, the park was almost completely empty and very dark. It was so nice to see Main Street, U.S.A. and the castle all lit up without any crowds blocking it.

Day 4:

Unfortunately, this was the day we were departing Orlando for home to return to our few remaining months of high school. Waking up early to pack, we boarded a bus headed to Disney Springs to go shopping.

My best friend and I got tons of Disney souvenirs for ourselves, families, and even my dog in the Disney Emporium. We were extremely excited to find bath bombs in a shop next door. Meeting our friends at the T-rex Cafe for lunch, we almost missed the shuttle back to our hotel in the process. We immediately went to the airport and flew home (not before getting McDonald’s, of course).

While barely even four days spent in Florida, my friends and I made so many memories that will represent our high school years forever.

Until next time, Disney!
