Jennifer Keagy

Director, Faculty Center

Biography

Jennifer joined Penn State Harrisburg as the Director of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Instructional Technology in May 2016. Previously, she worked for the Rite Aid Corporation where she managed a team of instructional designers who developed curriculum for the pharmacy retail chain.

Jennifer has over eighteen years of instructional design experience with Williams-Sonoma, Inc., Administrative Offices of the PA Courts, Brady Security, Kaplan Career Institute and Phoenix Contact. Jennifer holds a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Temple University, a Master’s certificate from Penn State Harrisburg in Training and Development, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The College of Wooster.

Donna Bayer

Instructional Designer

Biography

Donna has worked in a variety of educational settings including Temple University Harrisburg, Central Penn College and Shippensburg University as an instructional designer, where she collaboratively worked with faculty to design and develop face-to-face, fully-online and hybrid courses. She has also worked on non-credit curriculum development and has taught both face-to-face and online classes as an adjunct faculty member at Shippensburg University.

Donna graduated with a B.S in Psychology from Shippensburg University and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Penn State University. She also holds a M.S.E.D as a Reading Specialist from Shippensburg University and a M.S. in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University. Donna is currently enrolled as a doctoral student at Pepperdine University in their Learning Technologies program. Her research interest includes exploring how to design instruction for a culturally diverse world.

Donna now serves as an instructional designer at Penn State Harrisburg, where she consults with the School of Behavioral Sciences and Education. Along with her research interests, you can often find Donna playing online games, or reading about the application of game design and augmented/virtual reality to the educational setting.

Tim Lengel

Instructional Designer

Biography

Tim received his Master’s degree in instructional technology from Bloomsburg University before coming to the Faculty Center at Penn State Harrisburg as an instructional designer. Tim serves as Penn State Harrisburg’s Canvas Liaison and is responsible for responding to faculty and staff inquiries as well as coordinating the move to Canvas.

Betsy Parlett

Administrative Support Assistant

Biography

Betsy serves as the Administrative Support Assistant at the Faculty Center. She is also the college’s SRTE Representative. Betsy received her professional certification in travel and tourism from the Boyd School. Prior to joining the staff at Penn State Harrisburg, she served as an administrative support assistant for The Pennsylvania State University, College of Information Sciences and Technology, University Park, PA.

Dan Poeschl

Multimedia Specialist

Biography

Daniel received his bachelor’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey in Communications. Prior to joining the staff, Daniel was a freelance videographer in the New York City area. He created video content for Billboard Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, Becton Dickenson, and numerous other small businesses in the Tri-State area. Dan is the Multimedia Specialist, serving jointly with the Faculty Center and the Marketing & Communications teams.

Sean Pyle

Instructional Designer

Biography

Sean previously worked at Lancaster Bible College as an instructional designer, where he designed and developed fully-online and hybrid courses with their faculty. Sean graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education from Millersville University and an M.Ed from Duquesne University, with a certification in Instructional Technology. He now serves as an instructional designer at Penn State Harrisburg, where he consults the Master’s of Accounting program. Sean is interested in how we can take data that we are compiling from students who are accessing Learning Management Systems and use it to improve aspects of student learning (e.g. Metacognition).

Matt White

Instructional Production Specialist

Biography

Matt White, an Instructional Production Specialist in the Faculty Center, completed his B.A. in Religious Studies from Juniata College. He came to Penn State through Connections Education in Baltimore, where he was a Project Associate. Matt supports the team of instructional designers in the Faculty Center.
