Awareness by Elizabeth Lynch

It’s hard to admit

That sometimes

You submit,

To the thoughts

That degrade your health.

Your condition is not for attention.

Your condition is not that extensive.

You’re in the middle

Of the spectrum somewhere.

But when you finally confess,

That well,

You’re kind of a mess,

They dismiss it

As “just a phase”.

Until finally you find the person

That will listen

Instead of worsen,

You’re left alone to fight

Your own thoughts.

Elizabeth Lynch is an undecided major who says, “I’m exploring the worlds of marketing, advertising, and film. I never imagined myself writing poems, but here I am. I am immensely invested in the world of fantasy, and from that comes some of my writing.”
