About Me

Felix Rodriguez is a Doctoral Candidate of Art Education at The Pennsylvania State University, with a minor in Latin American Studies. After teaching in inner-city settings in the Dominican Republic for seven years, Felix was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue his master degree at the University of Cincinnati. He is currently focusing his academic and creative work on issues of art education in Latin America, histories of art education, and the intersection of race, politics, and art education in the Dominican Republic. He is particularly interested in the possibilities of the art curriculum to address social, cultural and institutional narratives that traditionally marginalized [negated] African values and aesthetic within Dominican culture.
