Hello! My name is Cristina Frass and I am a freshman in the Stuckeman College of Arts and Architecture and the Schreyer Honors College. I plan to double major in Landscape Architecture and Global and International Studies with minors in Japanese, Spanish and Environmental Science.
I am originally from Caracas, Venezuela, but I grew up in a State in southern Mexico called Tabasco. (yes, like the sauce. The sauce is originally from California though!) I lived in Germany for a year before returning to Mexico, and then moved to Houston in 2008. My parents still live in Texas with three of our five dogs, two Chihuahuas and one Pembroke Welsh Corgi who I spoil to death. Meanwhile, my older brother currently lives in Mexico with our Shetland Sheepdog and our Doberman Pinscher as he completes his Robotics degree in the University of the Americas.
As you might tell, I come from a family of animal lovers and I’m 100% a dog person. That is why I am currently the Secretary of the Nittany Greyhounds Club here in Penn State, where we volunteer at a local shelter that rescues racing dogs from Florida and finds them a home. I am also involved in the Korean International Club, Japanese Club, and Phi Eta Sigma. Finally I’m a social media and outreach intern in the Penn State Spanish and Portuguese department (Like us on facebook! :P).
I like drawing, listening to music, and taking pictures. I’m also addicted to cookies, teddy bears and books, so if you ever have a book to recommend, please don’t hesitate to tell me about it! My two favorite sports are basketball and soccer, although I only watch them. (Because I have no hand-eye coordination and would ungracefully break my tailbone trying to kick a ball, or get hit in the face trying to catch one. Totally not speaking from experience on that last one.) I really enjoy traveling and spending time outside, hence why my blog is called Wanderlust; I am also deeply interested in the topic of youth movements and their social impact.
If you ever need to reach me, you can email me at cqf5190@psu.edu.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog! Enjoy reading (^^)/
