Today I found a Vespula maculifrons queen (Eastern Yellowjacket) exploring our now-empty observation hive, perhaps assessing its appropriateness as a nesting site. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a wasp observation hive?! What other kinds of observation nests could we have?
