Are you passionate about insects and have been longing for museum/curation experience? Have you always wanted to know more about how species are named? (Do you maybe want to name a species yourself?) Do you want to work within a cricket’s jump of Berkey Creamery? If so do you have time in your schedule to work 10–15 hours per week?
That’s right. We’re looking to hire two (at least) hourly workers this fall. Highly desirable traits/skillz for future employees include:
- responsible, punctual, honest
- detail-oriented (approaching anal-retentive)
- excellent written, oral, and social media communication skills
- knowledge of photography, including Adobe Photoshop or related software
- enthusiasm for crafts
- unquenchable thirst for knowledge
We have numerous projects available and can tailor, within reason, the projects to fit one’s interests. Some projects come with salary ($9–12 per hour, depending on project and background), while others are based on research experience credit hours (3 hours of work per week for each credit hour of enrollment). See our post at the Office of Undergraduate Education website for more details. If you have any questions please contact me by email: adeans@psu.edu. From there we can set up a time to talk face-to-face and to tour the facility.
UPDATE: Positions are closed.
