The new Frost Entomological Museum – renovations have begun!

Fluorescent lights have been removed to make way for track lighting.

Last spring we closed the public space at the Frost so that we could begin the process of re-envisioning the exhibits and expanding our footprint. We disassembled and freeze-treated the old exhibits, stripped the walls bare, and initiated a long, deep dialog of ideas. (One of the reasons we’ve been so quite on the blog!)

I’m happy to report that we have a plan and at least a little bit of internal funding to move forward with a bold, new version of the public area. And I do mean bold. At least it’s going to be a lot bigger and more involved than I initially anticipated. More on that later. This post is just to announce that renovations have begun!

We’re still looking for funding to complete the new exhibits. If you’d like to contribute to the effort you may write a check made payable to The Pennsylvania State University, with this notation in the memo area: “Allocation Code: XCAFM”, and mail it to:

The College of Agricultural Sciences Development Office
240 Agricultural Administration Bldg
University Park, PA 16802

Or you can become a Friend of the Frost Entomological Museum!

We’re doubling in size!
