My name is Sam Kurth, and I am a new employee at the Frost Entomological Museum. I recently graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in biology and began working at the museum in June of 2015. During my undergraduate studies I was lucky enough to work in several biology labs, and when I graduated, I wanted to continue working in the biology field. When I saw that the museum was hiring, I jumped on the opportunity and applied.
Normally when I explain that I had a pet tarantula, people give me an uncomfortable look and shift around in their chairs a little, but here people usually just ask what I named him. It’s Harvey, in case anyone wanted to know; I couldn’t think of a name, and The Dark Knight came on T.V. and it stuck. I’m looking forward to helping out and seeing some crazy old insects, and maybe learning something in the process.
