After a game against the Miami Dolphins last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers added another loss to their record this week, 35 – 13 on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field, putting them solidly in last place in the AFC North Division with a record of 2 – 6. With this loss, the Black and Gold have not won in Philadelphia since 1965, which is 65 years.

Opening the first quarter, the Eagles were able to put points on the board first with 39-yard touchdown pass. Jalen Hurts, Eagles quarterback, found A.J. Brown, Eagles wide receiver, in the endzone to go up 7 – 0. The Steelers quickly answered back with a touchdown of their own. Chase Claypool, Steelers wide receiver, threw a 1-yard touchdown to Derek Watt, Steelers fullback, to tie the game.

The Eagles scored another touchdown early in the second quarter. Once again, Hurts found Brown in the endzone with a 27-yard pass to take the lead, 14 – 7. A few plays later, Hurts found Brown for a third time with a 27-yard touchdown pass to increase the lead, 21 – 7.

The Steelers tried to close the gap with a touchdown, but they were not able to do so. Instead, Nick Sciba, Steelers kicker, filled the shoes of Chris Boswell who was out due to a groin injury. Sciba kicked a 38-yard field goal to go into half, 21 – 10.

Coming back from half, the Eagles scored another quick touchdown. This time Hurts threw a 34-yard catch-and-run pass to Zach Pascal, strengthening their lead, 28 – 10. Again, the Steelers had to settle for another field goal. Sciba was able to make his 29-yard attempt to make the score 28 – 13.

After a fumble by the Steelers and picked up by the Eagles, it set them up in good field positioning. They were able to score on only two plays this drive. Miles Sanders, Eagles running back, rushed for an 11-yard touchdown to secure the win.

In a postgame press conference, Steelers Head Coach, Mike Tomlin, said, “We are not positioning ourselves to win games. We didn’t today and we got to own that. Some fundamental things have fallen short, and we have to keep a lid on it. If you don’t in the NFL, you don’t give yourself a chance to play.”
