PARIS–His name is Stephen Nedoroscik and he is from Massachusetts. While that name may not be familiar to most, he has made a major impression on fans around the world who watched the U.S. men take a bronze medal in the overall gymnastic team competition. Nedoroscik helped buoy the team to victory, even though he only competed on one apparatus, the pommel horse.
Nedoroscik, a 2020 Penn State electrical engineering graduate, wowed the fans with his prowess on the pommel horse where he earned a high score of 14.866, which was key to the overall team’s success in capturing the bronze, the first time since 2008 that American men were on the podium for the gymnastics team event.
Nedoroscik will compete again in the individual medal category on Aug. 3 when the men’s pommel horse final takes center stage in Paris.
