Hi guys! We are finally back with another passion blog! It’s been such a long time and I’m doing another creative type of post.
Today I’m going to be rating the walk-up songs of the Penn State baseball team, but because there are so many starters I’m going to be doing the starting lineup for today’s game against University of Southern California.
The players are Cole Wagner at 1st, Joe Jaconski at 2nd, Ryan Weingartner at shortstop, Bryce Molinaro at 3rd, Nate Voss or Matt Maloney will be starting catcher so I will do both, and Ryan DeSanto, Mason Horwat, and Logan Olsen are the projected pitchers, with Jesse Jaconski in left field, Paxton Kling in center field, and Cohl Mercado in right field.
I would like to preface by saying these are all opinions and I don’t hate any of these songs or players 🙂
- Jesse Jaconski: ‘Warning’ by Morgan Wallen
– Morgan Wallen has so many good songs but this is just not one of them. There were so many better options to make for your walk-up song. This feels like a desperate “I miss my ex” song and it is not fitting for a walk-up.
- Ryan Weingartner: ‘on one tonight’ by Gunna
– I don’t know I’m just so over this song. But I will say it fits the way that Ryan looks so honestly I don’t hate it but it’s just not a rap song that I would personally pick as my walk-up.
- Mason Horwat: ‘Pocket Of Sunshine’ by Natasha Bedingfield
– If you’re picking a song by Natasha Bedingfield for your walk-up, it should be Unwritten and there is no argument about it. I think it’s such a better fit instead of this song but I can get where Mason is coming from.
- 9. Bryce Molinaro: ‘Paparazzi’ by Lady Gaga
– This song just gives egotistical I don’t know why but it makes me upset because Bryce is actually one of the sweetest people ever and he’s pretty quiet, so I wish that he would change this song. Like unfortunately we are not in the MLB and people are not taking paparazzi pictures of you beside your photographers. Still a good song though.
- Ryan DeSanto: ‘Can’t Stop’ by Red Hot Chili Peppers
– It’s a great banger of a song but he has no lyrics play at all so you just kinda sit and maybe do a little shimmy of a dance move but it’s also just funky, not a horrible song for a pitcher though. I can see the vision.
- Cohl Mercado: ‘Super Freak’ by Rick James
– Just not one of my favorites. I think that it’s fun and he has the very beginning of the song as his walk-up song but I kind of wish he did the chorus instead this time. It’s just an interesting song to make your walk-up but whatever floats his boat I guess!
- 6. Cole Wagner: ‘Old Time Rock & Role’ by Bob Seger
– I really like this song especially the clip that Cole has as his walk-up, it’s a song that my friends and I will do in like a fun voice to try and match the vibe of the singer, and it’s a feel-good that brings up the energy! Still not a tough walk-up though, sorry Cole.
- 5. Joe Jaconski: ‘Evacuate The Dancefloor’ by Cascada
– I love this song so much but Joe has the chorus only as his walk-up, and I actually wish he started it from the beginning. I think it would be so much better if he started it from the beginning, but that’s my opinion.
- Matt Maloney: ‘Powerglide’ by Rae Sremmurd
– Matt Maloney understands the right rap that should be played as a walk-up song. This song is such a good song in general but also if you know the song it make sit 10x better. Absolute elite song knowledge.
- 3. Nate Voss: ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ by Shakira
– I don’t know who gave him the idea for this song but it is a BRILLIANT idea. Shakira is such a feel-good singer, and my friends and I can always dance and get excited when his walk-up song comes on. Nate Voss’ hips do not lie that boy can dance.
- 2. Logan Olsen: ‘Where Have You Been’ by Rhianna
– I don’t know what they are feeding these little pitchers, but I am seriously loving these walkup songs. They are just giving girls in the club getting ready to go out and have fun, and I love to sing this song with my heart. Another song my friends and I love to jam out to.
- Paxton Kling: ‘One Last Breath’ by Creed
– I feel like this is pretty self explanatory. This song is a masterpiece and if you know what Paxton looks like and who he is this song is perfect for him. This song is also just so incredibly tough as a walk-up song and Paxton executes it perfectly.
I hope you guys enjoyed the rendition of my passion blog this week, and passion blogs as a whole!
