Work Spaces and Meeting Rooms

This section provides information about offices, rooms, and other facilities that may be of use to the geography community. The Department of Geography’s spaces comprise the second and third floors of the Walker Building.

Access and key coordinator, facility coordinator, events coordinator, safety coordinator and lab safety officer, Melissa “Missy” Weaver, mkf15@psu.edu is located in 302 Walker Building.

Room Scheduling

To schedule or see availability of the rooms listed below use the online room reservation system: https://25live.collegenet.com/psu.

First Time Users: Please allow one business day for your account to be verified and updated with your appropriate campus access.

You can use the event wizard to see availability and find a location for your meeting. Your submission will be saved as tentative. You will receive an email confirming the request and another one when it is approved.

Projector: A LCD projector is available for use in any meeting room. The projector is stored in the department office, and must be reserved with a staff assistant.

Administrative Offices

The department office, mailroom, equipment, and supply rooms are open for general use from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Only faculty should be in the office after office hours. Computing facilities in the department office are for staff use only. Please do not use the staff’s computers.

301B Walker Building is the office of administrative manager,  Denise Kloehr.

302 Walker Building is the main office. Staff located in 302 Walker are:

Karen Cox, accounting administrative support coordinator
Marnie Deibler, research support coordinator
Jessica Perks,  graduate administrative support assistant
Missy Weaver,  undergraduate administrative support assistant

304 Walker Building is the community, reading, and lunch room. The department’s theses are housed in room 304. If needed, they can be signed out. Room 304 is available for use any time. If you open the room in the evening or on the weekends, please close and lock the door when you leave. If either the coffee pot or toaster oven has been plugged in, be sure that it is unplugged when the room is closed for the day. Everyone is expected to contribute to keeping room 304 clean.

Refrigerator use: Label all food in the refrigerator with your name and date. If food is not labeled properly, it will be thrown away. Please discard all outdated items regularly. Do not store large quantities of food in the refrigerator, and do not store unnecessary items in the refrigerator. This will allow for ample space for everyone.

Dishes: Do not leave dirty dishes in sink. Please store clean dishes in your office. Items that are left in the dish drain will be thrown away every Friday.

305 Walker Building is the office of undergraduate adviser,  Jodi Vender.

313 Walker  Building is the office of the communications specialist and webmaster, Angela Rogers.

325 Walker Building is the office of head of the department, Cynthia Brewer.

230 Walker Building is the office of the IT support specialist and computer lab supervisor, Bob Hibbert.

Department Meeting Rooms

319 Walker Building is the E. Willard Miller Seminar Room, and can be used for department meeting and events. Other than seminars, this room may not be scheduled for courses or section meetings. Capacity: 30 (theatre), 15 (horseshoe table)

337 Walker Building is a conference room which may be used for committee meetings, examinations, faculty meetings, and any other legitimate departmental use. Capacity: 12

331 Walker Building is a small meeting room which may be used for TA meetings, proctored exams, and any other legitimate departmental use. Capacity 3–4
