Savannah Anez – Primary Investigator

sga5169@psu.edu

Savannah Anez is a second-year Ph.D. Candidate in the Plant Biology program at Penn State. She is originally from rural Minnesota, and received her BS in Biochemistry from Notre Dame. Currently, Savannah is working in Josh Kellogg’s lab, studying the phytochemistry, bioactivity, and chemical ecology of Appalachian plants, specifically ghost pipe (Monotropa uniflora). Please reach out if you are interested or have any questions, she would love to talk!

Dr. Eric Burkhart – Advisor

Dr. Burkhart is the director of the Appalachian Botany and Ethnobotany program at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center, and an associate teaching professor in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at Penn State. More information on Dr. Burkhart’s work can be found here.

Dr. Joshua Kellogg – Advisor

Dr. Kellogg is an assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at Penn State. His research integrates analytical metabolomics, chemical biology, natural products chemistry, molecular biology, and ethnobotany to characterize bioactive natural products (metabolites) that interface with therapeutic targets to modulate human, plant, and animal health. More information on Dr. Kellogg’s work can be found here.
