Dr. Tamy Guimarães joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State as an assistant professor in July 2021. She was born in Brazil and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Energy Engineering from Universidade Federal do ABC. She studied abroad for a year at UC Davis, where she fell in love with experimental research. She received her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 2018 and lived in Munich, Germany until 2021.
