Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pack my bags and travel to yet another professional development event?
No! The conference takes place completely online in order to provide the greatest access to interested participants. We aim to keep things affordable – no plane tickets to buy, no expensive conference registration to purchase and no rubber chicken to eat at the culminating banquet.
Do I need to take the whole week off work to attend?
No! On February 3 – 7, 2020 we will release several on-demand presentations that you can watch at any time. Each evening we will hold an online roundtable discussion at 8:00 EST to discuss the essential question for the day. The live event on February 7 will take place during the afternoon. We suggest blocking off these times on your schedule to get the most out of your participation in #GLAG20.
Do I have to be available for all sessions?
No! All sessions will be recorded and available to participants soon after the conference ends. The highest value is from synchronous participation because you will be able to participate in the live roundtable discussions, the Adobe Connect chat, and the back channel conversations on social media.
What is the Conference in a Box?
Anything and everything that makes a conference great is included to help make sure that this is more than just a boring webinar. Included are books, the conference program, Global Learning Partner swag, international snacks, instructional materials and more!
What kind of credit can I get?
Penn State does provide a letter indicating the awarding of Continuing Education Units (5) for participation upon request. Naturally, a local provider of CEUs in your state would have to approve and/or accept them. Email email@example.com for more information.
What are the registration options?
All Access registration provides you with access to all conference activities AND you will receive a Conference in a Box in the mail a few days before the conference begins. Digital Only access provides registrants with access to all conference activities, but does not include a Conference in a Box.
Is this appropriate for my students to watch?
#GLAG20 is designed to be a professional development opportunity for educators. However, due to popular demand, we have created GLAG Jr., an on-demand learning experience just for youth. There is also an exclusive funding opportunity to put resources behind some of the create ideas generated during the sessions! See the GLAG Jr. website for more information.
