“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” -Jack Welch
Hello! My name is Shane Brody.
Location: I live in Philadelphia… born and raised.
Professional Life: I am a Sr. Account Manager for State & Local Government and Education Sales for T-Mobile.
Long-Term Goals: My long-term goals are to hold a management position and continue climbing up the leadership ladder as I pave the way for new and innovative advances in mobile technology, specifically in education.
Leadership Roles: Professionally, I currently hold an “unofficial” leadership role on my team. Many co-workers come to me for sales advice and direction on a daily basis. I am a back-up for my manager when he is on vacation or out of the office for meetings.
I also hold a leadership role on a board of directors for a charter school. I recently headed up the committee to plan a golf outing and fundraiser for the school. The even was a huge success and we are already looking forward to next year.
I would also consider my most important leadership role to be that of a FATHER! I have an adorable 2 year old daughter whom my main goal in life is to succeed at raising a bright, courtesy, independent young woman. I think there’s a long road ahead but I can’t wait to take it on!
Favorite Leadership quote:
“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” -Jack Welch
Some other interesting tidbits about me:
- I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Jocelyn since September of 2010. We have an adorable and spirited 2 year old daughter named Devyn.
- I have an extreme passion to see the world. I’ve been to many many cities and countries throughout North America, Europe, South America, Central America and the Middle East. I’ve hiked Machu Picchu, rode a camel in Dubai, driven a car alone across Ireland, the list goes on. My wife and I have enjoyed seeing the world as often as we can so once we decided to start a family we knew we had to continue! Our 2-year-old daughter has been to 11 different countries already!
- Other hobbies include golf and Fantasy Football
- I’m in the midst of selling our home and buying our “dream” home. We plan on lots of renovations. No worries though, I am a big fan of home remodeling. Wish us luck!

Kimberly- Nice to meet you “neighbor!” Parenthood is definitely challenging yet awesome. Time is already flying. Thanks for the compliments. Looking forward to this semester also.
Matt- A fellow adventurer! Nothing better than seeing the world and experiencing new cultures. One of my favorite quotes: “Travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer.” Cheers to you.

Nice to meet you Shane. I live in Bridgeport (near King of Prussia) just outside of Philly. You have a beautiful family. Good luck with your house plans. It sounds like you have great leadership roles already. Like you mentioned, the most important one of being a father. It is a joy to be a parent and believe me the time goes quickly. They grow up fast, so enjoy this time. I like the leadership quote that you shared, very inspiring. I look forward to taking this class with everyone and learning from everyone’s experiences thus far.
