Hi everyone! My name is Connor Lomb, and I’m currently a Sales Account Executive for MG Lomb Advertising. Nice to meet you all!
I live in upstate New York in Rochester; hence, not New York City, as many non-locals generally assume! Right now I’m in a good place professionally – I make significantly more than my peers, and I work full-time while attending Penn State World Campus as a part-time student. I am technically in my third year of school, as I attended a year at Hofstra University, 2 semesters at Monroe Community College, and this is now my third semester at Penn State. Last summer I worked as a District Manager for Vector Marketing, where I leased out my own office in Syracuse, NY, hired and trained 29 sales representatives to sell Cutco Cutlery products, as well as two receptionists. I have been responsible for over $47,000 worth of sales in Cutco Cutlery. I was promoted to Pilot Sales Manager of NY State after running an office, and then used my experience as a stepping stone into the position I’m in now. As a Sales Account Executive, I am responsible for building and fostering B2B relationships with active, inactive and prospective clients.
One of my favorite quotes, less about leadership but more about working in general, is “Work hard in silence and let success be the noise.” I’m the type of person who lets actions speak louder than words, and I need not brag about my successes to feel good about myself. I’m that guy who would win the lottery, invest it, and tell nobody. Grind while they sleep, learn while they party, live like they dream!
My long-term goals are to become experienced in business so that I can become a consultant. I love teaching people what works and using my success to help other people. I would like to do some motivational speaking at some point in my lifetime. My ultimate goal is to travel as much as possible – cliché, yes, but who doesn’t want to see the world?
I’m not too interesting – I love to work. It’s difficult for me to relax, but I’ve taken up several pastimes such as playing piano, guitar, running, working out, and playing soccer. Life is about becoming the best version of yourself.
Looking forward to working with you all and watching you grow as individuals. Here’s to another semester!
