Hello everyone,
My name is Abby and I am a fifth year senior finishing up my degree in Organizational Leadership. I live in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, which is in the south-central part of the state near the Maryland line. I live with my husband and our two rescue dogs, Preston and Lunah. I am a “passionpreneur” and started a pet care services business, as animals are just one of my many passions in life. When I am not working or doing homework, I also enjoy the following: reading, writing, singing, listening to music, cooking/baking, spending time with family and friends, and being out in nature.
My primary motivation for taking this course is because it is a 400-level course required to complete the major, but I am also fascinated by the opinions and experiences of those who are different from me. I agree that the world is getting smaller by the second and that we need to learn to better communicate so that we can solve the problems we share as a global community. Diversity training is increasingly important if we are to be successful leaders and even just positively productive members of society.
I wish everyone much success this semester! It is nice to “meet” you all.

Hello,
My name is Tina Cermignano and I am scheduled to graduate next semester with a BS in OLEAD.
This is my fourth class that I have taken with Dr. Redmond and i am looking forward to taking another one of his classes. I was originally hoping to graduate at the end of this semester but due to circumstances beyond my control I was not able to make that happen. i am now on target to graduate next semester, after attending Penn State since 2014.
I am an operations manager at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where I have worked for the past 15 years. I am married with three grown children which as of last week all three are in college. My daughter is a 3rd year medical student, my son is a junior computer science major and my youngest has just entered college as an undeclared student. Obviously, I am a proud Mamma and I hope all of my children have learned from me the importance of higher education and that it is important to never give up on your dreams no matter your age.
I look forward to getting to know all of you better this semester. Tina

Hi Abby, its nice to meet you! That’s great you have rescue dogs and work with pets. While I don’t have any pets, two of my kids have pets at their Dad’s house. Their stepmom volunteers for a cat rescue shelter and I got to hear about how this summer they had a garage sale and donated proceeds to the shelter. My daughter told me that the woman who runs the shelter called her and her brother “Cat Warriors”! She was so proud of herself!
Good luck this semester!

Hi Abby,
I think that it is awesome that you started a pet care service business. I have a dog named King and my husband got him for me to help me with my fear of dogs. Even though it has taken me some time I care for my dog and it is important that he is treated well and getting the best care. When I first started pursuing my education I started off with going for a degree in organizational leadership so I think that it is great that you are going for it. I wish you much success.
