GLPEN is an initiative started by graduate students in the School of Global Languages and Literatures intended to normalize the discussion of alt-ac and non-ac career paths. The GLPEN aims to bridge the gap between graduate student training in the academic context and the broad range of career possibilities that exist for advanced degree holders from the Humanities and the Social Sciences, and specifically within the field of Global Languages.

This website brings together resources on career exploration from various sources into one easily accessible location and provides information about professional development opportunities both within and outside of Penn State. Additionally, this website features an alumni network specific to graduates of the Global Languages departments at Penn State who have pursued alt-ac or non-ac career paths.
