Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kansas) introduced a bill to prevent states from adopting bills mandating the labeling of GMOs. He has named the bill, the Safe and Accurate Food Labeling Act and claims that it would prevent fear mongering about GMOs. Opponents of the bills have termed it the DARK act, and state that it would prevent the public from making choices about their food.
