More about GWIS

GWIS has a rich history with over 90 years as a professional organization of women in science. We have 20 active chapters across the world representing over 1500 total members. The National organization supports their chapters by overseeing the the National GWIS Fellowship program, providing professional development and networking opportunities and connecting chapters with resources to run efficiently.

GWIS State College has been an active chapter at Penn State since 1930, making it the longest running women’s organization on campus. We organize local outreach events, professional development programs, social events, a yearly networking conference, and monthly meetings for graduate students in STEM fields at Penn State.
