Yeon Soo Kim (BMS Graduate Student, Hempel Lab)
Yeon Soo is starting her fifth year in the Biomedical Sciences (BMS) graduate program at the Penn State Hershey College of Medicine. Her project focuses on the regulation of mitochondrial superoxide dismutase (Sod2) expression in ovarian cancer metastasis models.
Her new data is available at bioRxiv: Context-dependent activation of SIRT3 is necessary for anchorage-independent survival and metastasis of ovarian cancer cells. Her recent publications include: Insights into the Dichotomous Regulation of SOD2 in Cancer.
Zaineb Javed (BMS Graduate Student, Hempel Lab)
Zaineb is a second year BMS graduate student at the Penn State Hershey College of Medicine. Her research focuses on mitochondrial fission/fusion dynamics in ovarian cancer.
Beth Worley (BMS Graduate Student, Hempel Lab)
Beth is a fourth year BMS graduate student at the Penn State Hershey College of Medicine. Her work focuses on novel roles of the protein MPZL3 on metabolism and cell signaling in ovarian cancer.
Her recently published work includes: GPx3 supports ovarian cancer progression by manipulating the extracellular redox environment.
