I was one of those teenagers that went through all 4 years of high school without making their bed more than 2 times total. My room usually had a bunch of clothes on the ground, and my bathroom sink was always cluttered with make up and hair products. So how does my college dorm look now?
My mom was constantly on my back about keeping my room clean and organizing my bathroom. So I’d clean it when she told me to, but it never stayed clean for more than a day. Some people get to college and treat their dorm room exactly like their room at home, whether it’s always messy or generally very organized. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with myself in my motivation to keep my room very organized. I guess I’ll have to wait until my mom comes to visit and see my room with her own eyes because she definitely wouldn’t believe me when I say I actually make my bed and fold my clothes. There’s just something different about living in a room as opposed to only sleeping in a room, and I guess all those times my mom insisted on me cleaning my room had an impact on the way I keep up with my living space. Hopefully this is a long-term habit and not just excitement about a new room.

So glad to hear you are motivated to keep “your living space” organized & clutter free! I had a sneaky feeling you would make the adjustment when you got to college and are living & sleeping in your small dorm room. Keep it up!
