Ideas for the blog
~The experience so far: The United States and Ecuador are so much more different from what I expected they’ll be, but I’m glad I met people that have made this change so much easier. I still remember my first day here 2 months ago, I didn’t know anyone and had no friends, I didn’t even visit the campus before to be a little acclimated before coming here. It was a big change.
~Do I miss home? Of course, I do! sometimes I really want to go back, be with my mom and dad, my friends, my dog, and Ecuadorian people in general, because sometimes I don’t get American people and get frustrated about our differences.
~Something I love about Americans is that they’re so confident in themselves like they can have such strong opinions and don’t care what other people think or say, to be honest, I hope that can grow on me more, I very much need it.
rhetorical analysis – mouse advertisement
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0K8lrVjT6fM
This advertisement video shows how this mouse eats a particular brand of cheese and gets overly hyped for it, he is able to do human actions such as exercise. One strategy that caught my attention was the choice of music, from very calm music to a loud and hectic kind of song, also the second song is very famous in the boxing sport and movies of boxing, so it’s easier than people remember the music and immediately relates it with the brand next time they’re buying cheese. Also, it’s a funny and unreal commercial, because no mouse can lift weights, this makes the advertisement even children friendly.
The author also appealed to pathos, because at first, he made people sad when the mouse “died” in the mousetrap, but then the animal woke up and started lifting the weights, he played with the audience’s emotions and make people like the commercial even more, because it tricked them at first. At the same time, it can appeal to people’s imagination in how it would be if they take the action of buying the cheese, they will wonder in what good outcomes can come with that like maybe they’ll be stronger or it’s just so good they have to try it, that’s how people are persuaded into buying the cheese just by being seeing a mouse eating it.
The author was effective in communicating the message he wanted to express, as he made it very clear that the cheese makes people stronger and that individuals should buy it, he tried to persuade people into buying the cheese in a different way other cheese companies would do it, even tho this cheese is the same as many others it gave it a special meaning or memory to people that have seen the commercial before.
