About me

As introduced before, my name is Han.

I’m originally from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), the biggest city in Vietnam and came to the U.S two years ago for college. Before that, I graduated from Le Hong Phong High school for the Gifted and took two gap years volunteering for community service and working as a materials editor for the Office of International Study Programs of Bach Khoa University (HCMC).

I’m a cosmetics and polymer enthusiast, so I chose Chemical Engineering, a major that allows me to work in both the R&D and the business functions of any company. I also minor in Six Sigma because I strongly believe in the increased productivity of being organized and innovated. Since Jan 2017, I joined Dr. Ralph Colby’s research group to study the Rheology of Polymers and Penn State Learning as a Math tutor. These two experiences have taught me a lot about sciences, teamwork, and the professional working environment as well as considerably improved my personalities.

Outside of classroom, I get involved with the Vietnamese Student Association at Penn State and the Women in Engineering Program. I also enjoy doing sports, hanging out with friends, and cooking. In addition, I’m a big fan of crafting (cross-stitching, quilling, origami, handmade flannel key-chain, etc.) and photography (see the background picture?)

After graduation, I look to work for a chemical company, either focusing on consumer products, cosmetics, or material sciences.
