Exams, essays, football games, and parties; college is a busy time for us all, and sometimes things can get a little disorganized, whether it’s your underwear drawer or the items on your to-do list. Don’t worry though, as a struggling college girl herself, I know just the right tips and items to help you stay organized on all levels.
Get a Planner!
This is pretty obvious, but having a daily planner is key for staying on top of everything that you need to do. Every morning, I write down all of my homework for my classes, what fitness class I’m doing that day, and any other important notes or tasks I need to remember. Having everything written down in front of you makes it easier to get everything done! I also write down all of my exam dates as soon as I know them, that way I have plenty of time to prepare and study. I use a Lilly Pulitzer agenda because it includes daily notes as well as a calendar of each month! If a paper planner isn’t really your thing, then try using the calendar on your computer! You can set reminders to go off at a certain time, so you’ll always remember your next task or homework assignment!

Purchase Some Drawer Organizers
All throughout high school, my drawers were always super messy and disorganized. When I got to college, however, I realized that my dorm room is not big enough for me to be unorganized, so I purchased some drawer organizers. I only bought the kind that organize your underwear drawer, but there’s plenty of other organizers that can be used for all articles of clothing. I love these underwear drawer organizers because I can fit all of my underwear, bras, and socks into my drawers, and I don’t have to dig around to find anything because it’s all laid out in front of me!
You can buy them here!
Individual Notebooks Are a MUST
Having individual notebooks are key to keeping all of your notes organized. If you’re taking five classes, buy five notebooks, and keep your notes as organized as possible. When you combine two classes into one notebook, it can be tricky to look back and find specific lecture notes, so do yourself a favor and keep them separate!
You can buy notebooks at any Walmart, Staples, etc.
Schedule a Room Cleaning Day
This is a big way to help yourself stay organized. My roommate and I clean our room every Thursday and every Sunday, because if we didn’t, we would never see our floor again. Cleaning your room once or twice a week even makes you feel more organized. Come on, think about how satisfying it is to finally have a clean room after it’s been trashed for days (I know, it’s the best). You’ll feel so much better when your room is clean, so try to make cleaning day a priority.
Hopefully my organizational tips helped you! I know sometimes it’s hard to stay organized as a busy college student, but it’s definitely important.
Happy organizing!
