Prodigal
By Amarillys Aponte
I met with God
To discuss the details of our separation
I said, “Eventually, I will return.”
He smiled politely
He expressed His love
But did not want to wait for me
Because He knows everything
All that I’m capable
All that I’m willing
And He knows
He will not welcome me Home
