This summer the Career Services staff expanded with the addition of a new counselor, Kathryn (Katy) Rush. Here is a short intro to who she is:
Katy is passionate about helping others to discover their path and providing them with the skills to succeed. Prior to joining Penn State Harrisburg’s Career Services team, she spent three years serving as the Internship Coordinator for Career Development at Kutztown University and three years teaching English as an Adjunct at Penn State Lehigh Valley. She strongly believes in building related experience and a strategic network before graduation. Katy works with students of all backgrounds with all interests and enjoys inspiring others to greatness. Her master’s degrees are in Student Affairs in Higher Education and English with bachelor’s degrees in English and Communications. She also has experience working in the education, banking, and restaurant industries. Katy seeks enjoyment through visiting eccentric places, re-purposing antiques, communing with nature, and cooking for friends. She can also be found skiing, kayaking, or golfing when she’s not spending time with her husband Don, her spunky cat Kia or fun-loving Cockapoo Daisy. Katy’s motto is “Do what you love. Love what you do!”
