My name is Lauren Hayden, and I am from a town called Greensburg, which is around 40 minutes away from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Throughout my life, I have grown to be passionate about many things. My academics have always been a top priority of mine. I am a lover of mathematics and science and have a designing mind. Because of this, I hope to be an engineer in the future.

 

Hockey is also a passion of mine. No, unfortunately I do not play hockey, however it is my favorite thing to watch on television. Following down from my father and grandfather, I am the next generation to continue the love for this sport. The Pittsburgh Penguins is my home team and one that I follow the most, however, if I was not from Pittsburgh, I would be more of a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. The fast-paced action of hockey always keeps me engaged and the atmosphere surrounding the arena is always so welcoming and inclusive.

 

I am also a big food fanatic. When it comes to trying new things, I am always up for a new food to taste. I mean, what can go wrong? My understanding of it is that if you don’t try it, you don’t really know what you do and don’t like. Some of my favorite food finds in the State College area are from Sower’s Harvest Cafe and Federal Taphouse. Both of these places have unique foods and are reasonable in price. However, while only being a freshman here, I still have a lot of work to get done with my food finds.
