PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS
The overall goal of our preschool programming is to increase food literay and improve healthy habits in children and their caregivers. Food literacy is a set of skills needed to develop a healthy, lifelong relationship with food. We partner with child care centers to train teachers to deliver an evidenced-based curriculum that introduces children to healthy foods from A-Z, and teaches children to choose healthy foods.
School-Age Programs
The overall goal of our school-age programs is to teach children about the importance of active living and healthy eating. Youth will be introduced to movement activities, educational games, goal setting, and hands-on snack preparation.
Adult Programs
We offer a series of discussion-based workshops that focus on healthy eating, cooking healthy on a budget, and stretching food dollars. We also offer interactive tours in local grocery stores.
Community Outreach Programs
We plan several health-fair style events to reach children, adults and families from the community agencies and locations that we partner with. In addition to providing nutrition education, a healthy food tasting is also provided, in addition to educational materials to take home.
