Avocado Toast

If you have an avocado on hand, this is such an easy breakfast!

Ingredients:​

  • ½ avocado​
  • 1 slice of bread – preferably whole grain​

Optional:

  • 1 egg
  • Hot sauce
  • Pepper
  • Pepper flakes

Directions:​

  1. Toast bread in the toaster.​
  2. Cut one avocado in half the long way.  Pull the two halves apart. (Put the half with the pit away by wrapping it in plastic wrap and storing in the refrigerator.) Spoon the other half of the avocado out of its skin and place it on toast.​
  3. Mash the avocado on the top of the toast until it’s spread out evenly.​
  4. If desired, prepare egg and place on top of avocado​
  5. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.​
  6. Add red pepper flakes or hot sauce if you’re looking for a kick!​
