Healthy Eating

burritoAs a college student, there can be roadblocks in your way when it comes to healthy eating.  Busy schedules, tight budgets, or just not knowing how to eat right can impact your progress towards a healthy lifestyle.  Fortunately, Penn State has over 35 places to eat on campus, with healthy options found at each.  But how do you make the right choices?  And how do you eat right if you’re opting to live off campus, without a meal plan?

Based on a 2000 calorie/day diet, here’s what you should be eating:

Food Servings per day
Fruits 2 cups
Vegetables 2.5 cups
Grains 6 ounces
Protein sources 5.5 ounces
Calcium sources 3 cups
