Prospective students

Prospective graduate students should contact Heather by email to learn more about M.Ed. and Ph.D. studies at Penn State in the Learning, Design, and Technology program.

The Ph.D. degree is a research-oriented degree that includes at least one year of full-time study in residence at University Park.  The M.Ed. degree can be a practice-oriented degree or a research-oriented degree; it can completed fully online or in residence at University Park.

  • Early January is the deadline for fall admission for Ph.D. students who are seeking graduate funding.
  • A second fall admission date is in early March; it is for students not seeking funding.
  • Early October is the deadline for spring admission (for students not seeking funding).

Potential Ph.D. students interested in research related to mobile computing, should also visit my shared research group page with Dr. Susan Land:  http://sites.psu.edu/augmentedlearning/.
