Members of the greenhouse team traveled to Choma yesterday to survey the first greenhouse location. After supplies were bought today in town and the digging tool was welded back together, the team visited a few mood mills to gage pricing for boards of wood. Only 5 meter long wood could be bought, which changes the original plan for the framework.
After traveling several hours with singing, missionary bus companions, the rest of the greenhouse team reunited to plan building operations. With vegetables purchased from the local markets, the whole HESE team cooked a dinner of barley soup and spaghetti and debriefed over dinner. Afterward, a small team ran calculations to determine the number of 2×2 and 2×3 wood pieces needed in order to minimize wood waste. Preliminary plans were made to clear the corn stalks and prepare the ground at the building site. Everyone is excited to start building!
