Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is a 2011 Bollywood film featuring Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhar Deol, Katrina Kaif, and Kalki Koechlin. I would call this movie a coming of age film as it is the story of three old friends- Kabir, Imran, and Arjun, who gather one more time and decide to go to Spain together before Kabir’s wedding.
In the movie the three friends are very different from each other and each has their own problems. Kabir is a people pleaser that can not say no and wants everyone to love each other. His people pleasing tendencies made him propose to his girlfriend when he was not ready to marry. Imran is the person with abandonment issues, not only did his dad leave him during childhood but he also tries to prove that he is worthy and lovable through his sense of humor and tendency to show that he can get whatever girl his friends have. Imran on the other hand, is a very serious rich business man who lives in London. Imran has been through many failed relationships as he prioritizes his work over everything. He is also scared of swimming pools and the ocean. Imran was about the bail on the trip to Spain due to work (that shows how obsessed with work he is).
The trip involves various adventure sports activities like skydiving, scuba diving, and bull-running. The movie has really great songs and uplifting moments. It is silly at times yet very funny. They embark on this journey to Spain and confront their Demons on the way. Imran finds his father who is a famous artist in Spain and they have a heart to heart. Arjun meets this girl Laila, who is their diving instructor, they fall in love and he learns how to prioritize her over his work. She helps him to overcome his fear of deep water bodies. Kabir learns to talk his mind and stop his people pleasing tendency by breaking off the wedding after his wife follows him to Spain with the assumption that he is cheating. They remain in a healthy loving relationship afterwards. The end of the movie features Arjuns wedding with Laila which was held at an outdoors beautiful wedding venue that fits Arjun’s luxurious style and Leilas adventurous personality. Everyone dances in synchrony at the wedding venue to a fun song.
This movie moves you. It shows you how imperfect we are as humans. How we always limit our capabilities with our fears. How we choose what is comfortable and familiar rather than what is right and healthy.
This is definitely a great watch. Although the movie is a bit long I would recommend it if you are trying to have a light and funny movie session with your friends.

This movie sounds so interesting! I think it’s cool how their trip to Spain came with lessons to be learnt and how they changed their ways for a healthier and happier lifestyle. I always think it’s important to recognize and positively respond to our flaws with appropriate changes to better our lives so I’ll definitely be looking into this movie! Nice job!
