The Murder of Robert Wone Part 2
We left off with Victor moving the knife off of Robert and onto the night stand. Victor then continues to tell police that his fingerprints will be on the knife because of that, and that’s why they were on there, not for any other reason. Fishy right?
During Joseph’s interview, he states that he held the towel on Robert’s chest like the 911 operator told him to, but during his interview, Joseph seemed especially concern with the whereabouts of Dillon. He kept asking where Dillon was and what was being said during his interview. It almost seems like Joseph wanted to make sure all their stories lined up, right? During a break from all the interviews, Joseph continued to ask where Dillon was and asked if Dillon knew that he was entitled to a lawyer, over and over again. However, there is something police learned during interviews that may make sense out of all of Joseph’s concerns about Dillon. Joseph, Dillon, and Victor were more than roommates and friends. In fact, they were all in a poly amorous relationship with one another.
Police begin to dive into the evidence found on scene. More specifically, they look for any signs of an intruder because that’s what the three men had all said had happened. However, nothing appeared to be taken from the home. In fact, the front door was locked, and even though they claimed that someone could’ve come in through the back door, their backyard had a seven foot fence that had been locked, making it way more difficult for an intruder to come in through the back door rather than the front.
It seems to appear what the “intruder” did was scale the seven foot fence, come in through the back door, walk past all of the valuables on the first floor, up the stairs, past Dillon’s room, into Robert’s room, kill, him, and leave with none of his valuables (watch/phone, etc.). This story is becoming less and less believable. The other thing police don’t understand is that how little blood was found on the crime scene.
Also, remember the towel that Joseph was apparently holding against Robert to stop “all” the bleeding? Here it is:
There is no way you can tell me that this was the towel used to stop the bleeding of 3 stab wounds, especially if one was in the heart.
Police figured out that the towel did in fact have Robert’s blood on it, but in no way was it used to stop his bleeding. In fact, it was theorized that this towel was used to transfer blood from Robert onto the knife that was found on the bedside table. Turns out, the knife only had smear marks onĀ the sides of it, but none on the actual cutting side, disproving the fact that it could have been the murder weapon. This was not what was used to kill Robert.
Now onto Robert’s autopsy. Each stab wound was around 4 and a half inches deep and each one was almost identical. However, the knife that was found on the nightstand was 5 and a half inches in length. There is no way this could’ve been the murder weapon because the supposed killer would have to forcefully stab a human body, but know exactly where to stop for each wound. It just doesn’t add up. This knife was staged.
The real murder weapon was now missing. Investigators come to the conclusion that Robert may have been unconscious during the time of his attack because there was absolutely no sign of struggle. In fact, there were 6 fresh needle marks on his body. The medical examiner tested for alcohol and drugs in Robert’s body, but for some reason, didn’t test for any sort of paralytics. They also find evidence that Robert had a pillow held over his face for some time. The medical examiner also found semen on Robert’s body. After the DNA samples come back, however, it seems that all the semen found on Robert was his own. Police then conclude that Robert had been sexually assaulted before his death.
Once again, great job! I always look forward to coming back to your blog and reading new stories or finishing up on cliff hangers. This was such a neat and interesting topic and I love it!! This story is crazy, and its crazy how they never charged anyone even though someone in that house CLEARLY killed Robert. It is sad that justice was never served. Anyway, amazing job!
Wow, what an interesting blog post. I also read the first part, and was totally intrigued, so I kept reading about this murder case in your next post. It is insane to hear about a murder case that also included a polyamorous relationship. It’s also sad to hear about how someone can go to these lengths to kill another human being in this way. Although no one was formally charged, it seems quite obvious that this murder was meticulously planned out. Again, great post!
