Terrance and Danny Day 10

Today was our last full day in Gothenburg. I’m the morning, we visited Volvo group and had a day of presentations on their HR practices. One unique thing about Volvo group is that they have their own university for their employees to go through their graduated studies. Another topic mentioned at Volvo group was their revamping of their values because employees were not connecting with the values and this lead to less motivation and production. We then left Volvo’s presentation to have a nice cod lunch at Volvo and then went to view their museum, which was filled with cars, trucks, and construction equipment throughout the decades. After the museum, we went back to the dock and had a nice sushi dinner by the water.

Today was so interesting and fun! We went to Volvo and saw the car museum! It was very interesting to hear about how Volvo is pushing for increased engagement within their organization and how far they’ve come recently! The cars were very interesting to look at as well and we learned a lot about Swedish industrial history. Volvo was founded in 1927 as a car company and moved into trucks and boats but then separated as a corporation! After this, we all hung out and ate dinner together!
