The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award for Medical School Faculty
This award is given to recognize and honor medical school faculty who demonstrate the highest standard of compassion and sensitivity in their interaction with patients. The Arnold P. Gold Foundation supports the selection of one faculty member to be honored during our Commencement celebrations.
Please use the following criteria to consider which medical school faculty member to nominate for this prestigious award:
- compassion and empathy in the delivery of care to patients
- role model for students and colleagues
- approachable and accessible to students
- sensitive to culture and diversity
- exemplary communication and listening skills
- respect for the patient’s perspective
- attention to the patient’s psychological well-being
- engenders trust and confidence
