Benjamin H. Levi, M.D., Ph.D., FAAP is a philosopher and practicing primary care pediatrician whose scholarship focuses on conceptual and applied aspects of respecting patient autonomy, medical decision making, and also “reasonable suspicion.” This includes developing and conducting research on an online decision aid for advance care planning (Making Your Wishes Known), as well as a gamified online learning program that prepares mandated reporters to report suspected child abuse (iLookOut for Child Abuse). For many years, Dr. Levi has worked teaching bioethics, and conducting and supervising clinical ethics consultation in medical settings. He is also the founding Director of Penn State’s Center for the Protection of Children, and an aspiring blues guitarist.
