Offering virtual office hours is an excellent strategy for providing more flexibility for your students to meet with you. As described on the Hybrid Learning Web Conferencing page, Penn State uses Zoom as one option to connect virtually. Zoom includes several built-in features that can enhance the educational experience.
- Enable “Play sound when participants join or leave” by signing in and clicking Settings.
- Project a website, notes, PowerPoint slides, etc. with the Share Screen feature. (You can also allow students to share their screen)
- Use the Annotation tools and/or whiteboard to display and answer questions, draw a diagram, or write notes.
- Record the session to share with students who could not attend but may have the same questions.
- Share the invitation to your session in Canvas so it is easily accessible to your students.
