Well hello everyone, this week I will not be writing about something from my bucket list because I am writing to you from the isolation dorms! Being put into quarantine from coming in contact with someone who has COVID-19 was definitely not on my bucket list, but I am making the most of it!
On Wednesday, my friend told me around 2 in the afternoon how he tested positive for COVID, and told me I should go test. I had no symptoms, so I went to the Penn State Pegula Ice Arena to test. My test came back negative, but then on Thursday (yesterday) the Penn State COVID contact tracing people called me saying I have to go into quarantine. I was exposed to my friend who has COVID on Tuesday, but I still have no symptoms. I have to go test again tomorrow and if I test negative again I may leave quarantine on Wednesday, but if I am positive that means I have to stay in quarantine until next Saturday.
So far the lunches and dinners have been pretty good compared to dining hall food! They have different meal plan options you can choose from including gluten free, vegan, or vegetarian options. They bring a bunch of water, apple juice, snacks (gluten free and vegan ones too), and the lunch and dinner packages are wrapped up in a box with a little tie on it. I have a corner room so I have a view of the neighboring halls, and I see the rise and a little bit of downtown because I’m in Harris Hall. Having my own bathroom in the room has definitely been fun though! The room is cozy in a way, and I have been keeping busy by catching up on work, eating a lot, painting, drawing, and watching Netflix!
Quarantining for 7-10 days was definitely not on my bucket list, but better to be safe then sorry, and I am making the most out of it!
