The week of October 2nd the IECP was busy with midterm exams in the Academic Interactions and Academic Literacies classes. At this midpoint in the semester, IECP students get to show off their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. As always, the period midterm testing is a demanding one, but IECP students (and faculty!) are also skilled at knowing how to have fun and relax after a studious week.
On Saturday, October 19th, about 40 IECP students and faculty took a bus ride to Hershey, PA to enjoy the fun and thrills of world-famous Hershey Park. Students were jubilant on the bus ride, singing songs and playing music to pass the time. There was even some dancing!
Once at Hershey Park, students enjoyed seeing people of all ages in costume in the spirit of Halloween, but the amazing roller coaster thrill rides were a main attraction. Not all students were fans of the coasters, but many students and faculty enjoyed the rush (and the views) of being high in the sky.
Hersehy Park is certainly one of the IECP’s favorite events. If you didn’t make it this time, we hope you can make it next year. In the meantime, does everyone have their costumes ready for our Halloween Party, on Tuesday, October 31st? I hear it’s going to be a scream!
