  1. This is a great example of how we can use the ideas of behaviorism to our advantage. When I worked at a summer camp I used the same concepts of positive and negative reinforcement that you talked about. One time this boy wouldn’t eat his lunch, but I knew he loved to be pushed on the swing. So I told him that if he finished all his food, I would push him on the swing for as long as he wanted. Another time two boys were picking on this girl, so I made them sit out of the kickball game that we were playing. Eventually they apologized and didn’t pick on the girl for the rest of the camp. I think the concepts of behaviorism can be very useful in our everyday lives, and when paired with the study of the brain, will lead to the most advancements in modern psychology.
