About this Site

The overarching goal of this website is to share the range of student-created iBooks with an Earth science theme.  This site showcases what students can successfully accomplish in one semester with no prior knowledge or familiarity with iBooks Author, and the majority of students never having touched an iPad.

The iBooks were created by: (1) undergraduate researcher Abbey Dufoe through an independent study project; (2) students enrolled in EARTH 100 (Environment Earth), a general education GN course for non-science majors; and (3) students enrolled in STS 201 (Climate Change, Energy, Biodiversity), a general education GN course for non-science majors with an embedded trip to Puerto Rico.

Students in STS 201 waiting to begin their tour of Puerto Rico's capitol building - with iPads in hand, ready to take notes.
